About
BlueSG is Singapore’s first 24/7 electric car-sharing service, offering convenient point A to B rentals through a subscription-based app. With a fleet of 1,000 electric cars and 500 charging stations islandwide, it provides a sustainable alternative that complements public transit and reduces car ownership.
App store reviews revealed growing dissatisfaction with BlueSG, pointing to unclear information and missing features that frustrated users. These issues suggested risks of poor user experience and potential loss of long-term customers.

Solution
From our findings, we framed the problem statement "How might BlueSG provide customers with high-quality information to help them plan their trips with more confidence?"
I translated insights into UX improvements by introducing a queue system with waitlist, notifications and estimated wait times. Battery information was surfaced earlier in the booking process, with recommended levels based on trip distance. To help users make informed booking choices, I added a check status feature showing real-time car availability, battery levels and estimated arrival times. To ease navigation, I also introduced detailed parking lot descriptions with community-contributed photos and videos, along with a check distance button linking to third-party maps to provide directions and travel options — whether by walking, bus or MRT.
Impact
These solutions aimed to restore user trust, improve planning confidence and strengthen BlueSG’s positioning as a reliable and sustainable mobility option — ultimately driving increased adoption, retention and user satisfaction levels.
